Elizabeth D. de Sagun - Marcelino
I was born in Laurel, Batangas on January 03, 1978 and was brought up there until I aged 15. The second from the eldest daughter of Victor Natanaunan de Sagun Sr., a land owner and a farmer at the same time, and Lilia Brillo Dizon – de Sagun who devoted most of her time taking care of our needs considering ours is a family of seven with my parents, me, my two other sisters and two brothers. The eldest among us siblings is Lilibeth, next to me is Claire, Victor and Leo.
I started schooling at the age of six at Laurel Central School, and took up my secondary education at Wenceslao Trinidad Memorial National High School also in Laurel, Batangas, but because of financial issues considering that I was pushing myself to finish college, year 1993 I left Laurel and basically was transferred to Batangas City where I have to look for a part-time employment, for me to be able to support my tertiary education at Batangas State University. After finishing my college-vocational course and obtaining adequate knowledge, I then decided to move here in Manila and luckily found immediately my first job on a multinational company where I worked as part of the MIC department from year 1997 up to year 2000. It was also during those years where I met William Marcelino, my officemate and best-friend at the same time and eventually I took my vows with him on October 04, 1998 at the age of 20.
I can say I am on the comfy side of my life, after being married for almost 14 years, we were blessed to have 3 kids, 2 boys namely James and John and our youngest is a girl named Justine who just turned 10 last November 2011. My husband resigned from his job year 2002, years after I ended my employment and surrender most of my time looking after them. We then decided to put up our own business and proud to say that from that venture we took, we were able to fulfill our deferred promises with our parents, a dream shelter and a car for them.
It is also a pleasure and rewarding thing for me to say that right now I am currently taking up my professional degree and if time would permit I will be finishing my bachelors’ course by the year 2013. I am happy with my life and enjoy it to the fullest. The positive attitude to face hardships brought out the best in me. Today I am looking forward to face the challenges of life in a positive manner. “God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.”
